Job Description
Orion Soft creates stable software for Enterprise business IT infrastructure.
Our products help automate and optimize processes, create secure infrastructure for Critical Information Infrastructure (CII), build private clouds, and launch effective ML/AI processes.
We are developing zVirt based on our own Linux distribution. This is a complex and interesting product created by a team of high-class specialists. We are looking for a colleague – a responsible, proactive individual capable of independently tackling complex technical issues – a Senior Linux Engineer.
Your Tasks
- Assembly, testing, and support of Linux distribution components in rpm packages;
- Working with yum repositories for internal use and product distribution;
- Active participation in the development, customization, and support of the Linux distribution for the zVirt virtualization platform;
- Analysis and debugging of system issues;
- Interaction with other teams (development, testing, operations).
Our Expectations
- Ability to understand Linux family operating systems (architecture, network, file systems, processes);
- Practical experience in debugging and solving OS performance and stability issues;
- Knowledge in the field of virtualization systems (KVM, QEMU, libvirt) and their internal workings;
- Experience in building packages (rpm, deb) and managing repositories (yum, dnf, apt);
- Understanding of the Linux distribution development lifecycle.
Great if you have
- Experience leading a team of engineers;
- A current RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certificate or equivalent;
- Experience in commercial development in one of the languages Java/Python/C/C++;
- Experience working with oVirt or Red Hat Virtualization;
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python).
