Fledge — a mobile dating product for the US market. The team previously built and scaled one of the largest dating services in the CIS (14M+ installs) — we are building an international direction based on this experience, technologies, and product expertise. The product is currently undergoing a rebranding and is launching in the US market. We need a person who will take the brand's visual language and package it into a design system that the product can be scaled incrementally.
At the start, you will be the sole designer on the team: you will handle the entire cycle of design solutions yourself, translate product goals into visual and UX solutions, and own the design system as a product. As the team grows, the role will include hiring and developing designers (graphic + UX/UI). You will report directly to the CPO.
Important to understand in advance: the documentation is incomplete at the start, the team is being formed, and priorities are being handled in parallel (App Store/Google Play launch, product migration). This is a role for those who are ready to understand the product, metrics, and current flows themselves and propose priorities, without expecting detailed task assignments from above.
What you will be doing
Brand and visual language. Own Fledge's identity end-to-end: logo, typography, color, illustrations, motion. Bring the existing rebranding to the product, not just leave it as a guideline in Figma. Ensure consistency between mobile and web, understand the visual codes of the US/UK/AU markets.
Design system. Build and develop a design system (mobile + web): tokens, component libraries, states, documentation, versioning. The system should reduce the cost of each new screen, not be a showcase.
Incremental redesign. Design the interface migration in increments: what to change first, how not to break the current flow, how each step can stand on its own. Prioritization — based on impact on metrics, not on "looks bad to see".
Key user scenarios. Design critical flows in iOS, Android, web: onboarding, registration, matching, compatibility, subscription, profile, communication. Working knowledge of iOS HIG and Material Design, practice of adaptive layout.
Design and metrics. Collaborate with product and analytics to form growth hypotheses, participate in A/B tests. Understand and use the levers of design solutions on key product metrics: registration CR, onboarding funnel metrics, purchase CR, and retention. Be able to read test results and make decisions independently.
First-touch and marketing. Store pages (App Store, Google Play), landing page, key marketing assets for the US — your direct area of responsibility. This is the first touchpoint with the product and the first conversion filter.
Team and process (as the team grows). Hiring, task assignment, reviews, development of designers. Retrospectives, quality metrics, separation of exploration and delivery phases. Handover of motion to development (Lottie, JSON). Use of AI tools to accelerate production.
The project is managed from problem to result: involvement at the problem definition stage, participation in solution development with product, support until release, and until the actual effect on metrics is visible. A task is not considered closed when "mockups are handed over to development".
When reviewing resumes, we want to see: Experience with products for US/UK/AU/Latam markets, understanding of market specifics and visual codes 5+ years in UX/UI, experience managing a design team (tasking, reviews, hiring, development — not just individual contribution) A live B2C consumer product with high-frequency engagement and subscription monetization (not consulting, not outsourcing, not B2B, not internal tools) Experience building a design system from scratch or managing a rebranding English B2+: working level for the US market and team, including user interviews in English
Will be a plus: Experience in dating, social discovery, entertainment — high-frequency consumer AI tools in the design process Experience with Store pages and performance assets (ASO visuals)
Skills important to us at the interview stage
Design systems. Built and developed design systems: Figma, tokens, component libraries — specifically built and maintained, not just used ready-made ones.
Product UX/UI mobile + web. Strong portfolio of consumer products. Working knowledge of iOS HIG and Material Design. Adaptive layout: grids, breakpoints, states.
Visual language / brand. Ability to define and develop identity (color, typography, illustrations, motion) and bring the brand to the product, not stop at a mood board.
Design ↔ metrics. Understand how design affects registration CR, onboarding funnel, retention. Participated in A/B tests, can describe a specific case: hypothesis → solution → result.
Motion and prototypes. Motion design, interactive prototypes, Lottie animations, handing over JSON to development.
Autonomy. Formulate tasks yourself, defend solutions with data and references, do not need detailed instructions.
