Suggest (search suggestions) is one of Yandex's most popular services. We serve over 100 thousand requests per second, with 99.9% of them processed in under 100 ms. Over 100 million users send queries to Suggest daily.

We are looking for a developer who will help us implement modern machine learning technologies and improve the existing infrastructure of a high-load service. You will get to know the existing architectural and software solutions and implement your own.

What tasks await you

Development of Ranking and Generative Suggest You will conduct experiments with ranking models and features for search suggestions and train small LLMs for generating suggestions.

ML in High-Load Services You will solve ML tasks on a massive data stream, find trade-offs, and optimize.

Working with ML Infrastructure You will need to build data processing pipelines and streamline model training.

We expect that you

• Know how to and love programming
• Have experience developing with object-oriented programming languages (ideally Python, C++)
• Have applied machine learning algorithms in practice
• Understand the principles of modern ML models
• Are knowledgeable in classical algorithms and data structures
• Have experience with parallel and multithreaded programming
