Description
Our team develops its own DBMS, based on open source PostgreSQL, with consideration for enhanced requirements for the security of stored information, reliability, availability, and ease of maintenance. In addition to the DBMS itself, we develop product deployment and update tools, a graphical DBMS management console, as well as a rich set of various utilities and extensions. The product is Sber's target DBMS and is currently used in more than 500 automated systems, which amounts to more than 25,000 active installations.
Responsibilities
- researching and implementing new features and optimizations for the DBMS and associated tools
- developing concepts for DBMS features
- prototyping DBMS features for handover to development
- participating in making architectural and technical decisions
- participating in code review.
Requirements
- proficiency in ANSI C
- knowledge of GNU/Linux and its anatomy
- knowledge of DBMS construction principles: data structures, indexes, ACID and BASE principles
- knowledge of the architecture, concepts, and operating principles of the PostgreSQL DBMS
- skill in covering code with regression tests
- willingness to take a leading role in development, to formulate and explain concepts
- instrumental proficiency in AI for analysis, generation, and automation.
Will be a plus
- experience in developing open source solutions
- experience in developing fault-tolerant distributed systems
- experience in development using agile methodology and other XP practices
- experience with development/build/delivery automation tools for software solutions (CI/CD)
- experience with profiling.
