Mobile Research Engineer (iOS/Android, Reverse Engineering, Network Protocols)
Format: remote
Location - any in Russia
Salary: from 180 to 240k after tax
Contract with Sole Proprietor.
Duration: 6 months.
Main tasks:
- research of closed Apple network protocols;
- reverse engineering of device interaction mechanisms;
- analysis of network traffic and mobile application behavior;
- research of MultiPeerConnectivity Framework operation;
- implementation of a proprietary prototype compatible with the researched protocol;
- assessment of research complexity, formation of technical scope together with the team.
The primary goal of the project is to research the possibility of emulating mechanisms similar to AirDrop and Shared Clipboard.
Required experience:
- commercial experience in iOS and/or Android development;
- strong understanding of low-level network interaction;
- reverse engineering experience;
- network protocol analysis experience;
- experience with Wireshark or similar traffic analysis tools;
- understanding of TCP/UDP, sockets, Bonjour/mDNS, Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi Direct or comparable technologies.
Advantageous:
- experience researching closed protocols;
- experience implementing a proprietary network client based on reverse engineering results;
- experience with MultiPeerConnectivity Framework;
- experience in Security Research, Protocol Engineering;
- experience researching internal mobile platform APIs;
- English language proficiency at B1 level or higher.
