Mobile Research Engineer (iOS/Android, Reverse Engineering, Network Protocols)
Format: remote
Location - within Russia
Salary Range: from 180 to 240k net
Contract with Sole Proprietorship.
Duration: 6 months.
Main tasks:
- research of Apple's closed network protocols;
reverse engineering of device interaction mechanisms;
- analysis of network traffic and mobile application behavior;
- research on the operation of the MultiPeerConnectivity Framework;
- implementation of a custom prototype compatible with the researched protocol;
- assessment of research complexity, forming technical scope together with the team.
The primary task of the project is to investigate the possibility of emulating mechanisms analogous to AirDrop and Shared Clipboard.
Required experience:
- commercial development experience for iOS and/or Android;
- solid understanding of low-level network interaction;
- reverse engineering experience;
- network protocol analysis experience;
- experience with Wireshark or similar traffic analysis tools;
- understanding of TCP/UDP, sockets, Bonjour/mDNS, Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi Direct, or comparable technologies.
Will be an advantage:
- experience researching closed protocols;
- experience implementing a custom network client based on reverse engineering results;
- experience with the MultiPeerConnectivity Framework;
- experience in Security Research, Protocol Engineering;
- experience researching internal mobile platform APIs;
- English language proficiency from B1 level.
