Senior Python Developer (payments)

☑️ Responsibilities
- Develop the architecture and backend of our proprietary payment platform, ensuring its fault tolerance and readiness for increased load
- Develop integrations with international PSPs, acquirers, and payment orchestrators, unifying them under a single internal payment model
- Implement routing, cascading, and retry logic to improve approval rates and optimize transaction costs
- Develop recurring payments, subscription billing, and rebill processes; ensure the payment aspects of the subscription lifecycle
- Work with the full lifecycle of card payments: 3DS, authorization, capture, void, refund, dispute, and chargeback
- Ensure the correctness of financial transactions: process webhooks and uncertain statuses, implement idempotency and payment reconciliation
- Develop APIs, internal services, payment analytics, monitoring, and alerts
- Integrate tokenization, Apple Pay / Google Pay, anti-fraud solutions, and chargeback prevention services; participate in preparing infrastructure for PCI DSS
☑️ Candidate Requirements
- From 4 years of commercial backend development, including confident work with Python, production services, and architecture design
- From 2 years in the payment domain: experience in developing or enhancing payment infrastructure and understanding how its components work together
- Practical experience with integrations with international PSPs, acquirers, or orchestrators and working with multiple payment providers
- Experience implementing payment logic: routing, cascading, retries, recurring payments, or subscription billing. It is important to be able to thoroughly explain your solutions and be ready to delve into related tasks
- Understanding of the card payment lifecycle, handling declines and refunds, and protection against recurring payments
- Experience with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, and REST API; understanding the principles of building fault-tolerant and scalable services
- Independence: ability to estimate and decompose tasks, justify technical decisions, and be responsible for their performance after launch
- English from B1
Will be a plus:
- Experience implementing Network Tokens, tokenization for recurring payments, Apple Pay / Google Pay
- Integration of anti-fraud solutions, Ethoca, Visa RDR, or similar services
- Frontend development experience in JavaScript / TypeScript / React: payment forms, checkout, admin panels
- Server administration and migration skills, setting up monitoring and backup
