Backend Developer for Driver Registration and Onboarding in Taxi

We help drivers around the world become part of Yandex Taxi and adapt to working in our service. For a driver to be able to accept orders, we must collect and verify their data, as well as explain how to complete orders in the service and how to earn money as efficiently as possible.

What tasks await you

Development of registration services You will develop services for self-registration of taxi drivers in Russia and the CIS, as well as for Yandex's international products. Different countries have different requirements for driver documents, working conditions, and even types of vehicles.

Development of onboarding services You will need to develop our driver adaptation services, simplify life for newcomers by making their first steps in the profession easier and clearer. We help drivers find answers to questions about where to rent a car for work, how to cooperate with a taxi fleet, how to receive, accept, and complete an order.

Launching taxi services in new countries It is necessary to gather customer wishes, help managers configure the product for a new region, and adapt services taking into account the specifics of a particular country.

We expect that you

• Know C++, Python and similar languages or are ready to learn quickly
• Have worked with relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases
• Love technical or product tasks and challenges

Will be a plus

• Understand the specifics of microservice architecture, optimization principles
• Cover code with tests, metrics, and monitoring
• Know the userver framework (C++)
• Are ready to take responsibility and propose ideas
• Are able to argue your point of view and negotiate with colleagues
