Responsibilities:
- Writing and tuning complex SQL queries, indexes, partitions
- Mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews
- Maintaining technical documentation and implementing new technologies
Requirements:
- Deep knowledge of SQL, ability to write complex queries, procedures, functions, and optimize them for high loads
- Experience with DBMS: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools like Apache Airflow, practical experience with distributed computing platforms (Apache Spark)
- Ability to perform profiling and optimization of queries, indexes, partitioning, caching
- Leadership qualities: ability to lead a small team of engineers, distribute tasks, mentor junior specialists
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in data processing pipelines
- Excellent communication skills: interaction with business analysts, data scientists, architects, and IT operations
