Senior Analytics Engineer (ClickHouse / Fintech Payments)

About us We are building an analytical platform for a payment system (payment gateway / orchestration). Our task is not reports, but a full-fledged transaction analysis system: KPI - drivers - root cause - entity comparison.

Responsibilities

Designing analytical layers: • KPI layer • Decline analytics layer • Comparative analysis layer • Migrating analytics from a relational DB to ClickHouse • Building aggregates and materialized views • Optimizing analytical queries

Model development: • approval rate decomposition • decline breakdown • share-based analytics • entity comparison (provider vs provider, merchant vs baseline) • Supporting data pipelines (SQL + a bit of Python) • Participating in the development of analytical interfaces

Requirements • Strong SQL (mandatory) • Experience with ClickHouse or other OLAP • Experience in building analytical models (not just visualization) • Understanding of aggregations, window functions, performance • Ability to work with large volumes of data

Will be a plus • Experience in fintech / payments • Understanding of authorization / decline flow / 3DS • Python (pandas) • BI tools (Tableau / Superset / Metabase)

A person who: • knows how to build analytical systems, not just reports • thinks in terms of metrics and cause-and-effect relationships • can explain why a metric is falling, not just show a graph
