R&D Engineer

☑️ Responsibilities
- Develop an autonomous route traversal module: path planning, waypoint following, obstacle avoidance, return to base
- Develop a teleoperation channel: low-latency command transmission, telemetry and video stream reception
- Design and implement the robot's behavioral layer using behavior trees: mission scenarios, event reactions, priorities, and task preemption
- Integrate with the robot's controller and sensor peripherals
- Develop testbeds and scenarios in simulation to verify behavior
- Profile and optimize for onboard computer constraints
- Write tests and documentation, ensure build reproducibility
☑️ Our Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in C++ or Rust development
- Proficient in C++ 17/20 or Rust
- Experience developing system or infrastructure software: services with strict latency requirements, network components, drivers, runtimes, embedded systems, real-time data stream processing
- Understanding of memory management and object lifetimes, multithreading and synchronization, ability to avoid unnecessary allocations
- Linux experience: profiling (perf, flamegraph), debugging (gdb/lldb, sanitizers), understanding of the scheduler, sockets, IPC
- Python knowledge: scripts, utilities, tests, ability to understand existing code
- Experience with build systems: CMake, Bazel, or Cargo for Rust
- Experience with Git and Docker
- Ability to set up CI/CD: build and test pipelines
