We are looking for a Middle+/Senior AI Engineer for the team of a new mobile application SberHealth - an AI-native product.
The main focus of the role is the development of GenAI/LLM/Agentic scenarios for a medical assistant.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Design and develop LLM pipelines for an AI assistant: dialogues, clarifying questions, recommendations, summaries, insights, explanations of medical data in simple language.
- Develop agentic scenarios: collecting data from external sources, validating data, enriching profiles, clarifying risks, preparing data for a doctor's appointment, monitoring adherence to recommendations.
- Build tool/function calling scenarios for the assistant's interaction with internal services: booking appointments with doctors, risk profiles, documents, notifications, user profiles, data from wearable devices.
- Work with prompts, structured output, JSON contracts, guardrails, fallback logic, and handling corner cases.
- Participate in the design of a multi-agent solution: data validation agent, risk clarification agent, pre-doctor appointment preparation agent, plan monitoring agent, proactive notification agent.
- Optimize the cost, latency, and quality of LLM calls, especially in active mobile usage scenarios.
- Help transform disparate user data - questionnaires, lab results, conclusions, wearable devices, historical data - into structured medical context and much more.
Required technical skills:
We expect from you:
- 3+ years of experience as an ML Engineer / AI Engineer / NLP Engineer / LLM Engineer.
- Practical experience of deploying ML/AI solutions into a product environment, not just research or notebooks.
- Experience in developing LLM-based applications: chatbots, assistants, RAG, agents, tool calling, structured generation, business scenario automation.
- Experience working with NLP tasks on real user or domain data.
- Experience interacting with backend, product, analytics, MLOps, and domain experts.
GenAI / LLM / Agentic hard skills:
- Solid experience with LLM APIs and/or self-hosted/open-source models.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, prompt chaining, tool/function calling, structured outputs, JSON schema, retries, fallback strategies.
- Experience in building agentic workflows: planning, tool selection, memory/context, routing, result verification, error recovery.
- Experience with RAG approaches: embeddings, reranking, chunking, retrieval evaluation, hallucination mitigation.
- Understanding of LLM evaluation: offline/online metrics, golden datasets, prompt testing, regression testing, human review.
- Experience in extracting structured data from unstructured text.
- Experience with OCR/document understanding: recognition of documents, photos, tables, scans, forms, lab results.
- Understanding of layout analysis, table extraction, document classification, post-OCR correction tasks.
- Proficient Python skills.
- Git, code review, branching, pull requests.
- Docker, basic understanding of containerization and environments.
- Linux/CLI, ability to understand logs and environments.
- REST API, integration with backend services, understanding of API contracts and versioning.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and observability.
- Ability to write maintainable code, cover critical logic with tests, and document solutions.
