Description

We are creating a service for ensuring the reliability of business processes as part of Sber's Platform V PaaS.

Our service, SessionsData (https://platformv.sbertech.ru/products/other/sessions-data), is a high-performance distributed in-memory cache for session data (common request context within a session), which helps reduce load on external services and databases.

The product is widely used in SberBank, both for SberBank Online and for internal bank systems. Over 80 million sessions per day in SberBank Online alone.

How we are set up:

The product has a microservice architecture. Microservices are packaged in Docker containers and managed by the Kubernetes/OpenShift orchestration system. We write services using the Spring/Spring Boot infrastructure. Interaction with our product is carried out using an SDK provided to the end consumer. For interservice communication, we use Istio Service Mesh, SDKs of other platform components, and OpenAPI specifications. All interactions with external services are secured with TLS/mTLS. We pay great attention to code quality, regularly conduct unit and integration testing, and strive to maintain a high level of code coverage.

We perform automated code quality analysis on an ongoing basis using Sonar tools and static source code security analysis tools. Source code changes go through a mandatory peer review stage; constructive criticism and knowledge sharing are encouraged within the team.

The product undergoes testing on a chain of test environments with varying degrees of integration with related services according to the current regression and new functionality test model, and load testing on an ongoing basis.

Load on the service is constantly growing, so new interesting challenges in ensuring fault tolerance, meeting SLA, and optimizing processes and operations arise before us.

Responsibilities

Your tasks:

• Requirements analysis: carefully study documentation and requirements to clearly understand testing goals and objectives, as well as to identify correlation between requirements and the functionality used
• Creating test cases: develop test scenarios based on product requirements
• Conducting testing: perform quality checks of functionality, recording any deviations
• Defect logging and tracking: document found bugs and track the process of their resolution
• Exploratory testing: take initiative and find unconventional ways to test the product, going beyond ready-made scenarios
• Team collaboration: work closely with developers, analysts, and project management to ensure prompt problem resolution and product quality improvement.

Requirements

We expect that you have:

• higher technical education
• practical experience as a tester
• understanding of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies
• ability to develop clear, understandable, and comprehensive test scenarios
• skills in working with software involved in testing processes (Postman, SoapUI, jMeter, etc.)
• experience reading logs of Java applications, understanding stack traces and integration errors from application logs (multithreaded application, Kafka/jdbc/SQL/HTTP REST API call integrations)
• basic SQL knowledge for composing simple database queries (Oracle, PostgreSQL DBMS)

Will be a plus:

• understanding and experience working with command-line and UI tools for Kubernetes/OpenShift
• familiarity with message processing systems (Kafka)
• understanding and experience working with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift manifests
• knowledge of the Java programming language, the distributed version control system Git/Bitbucket
• understanding of TLS/mTLS connection organization
• experience in test automation.
