"Making sports better" is the most accurate definition of our core mission, which has remained unchanged for 27 years. We make sports more accessible, understandable, and engaging by creating quality content and distributing it across all possible platforms.
Sports.ru is not just a sports news website. It is the leading Russian-language sports media with a multi-million audience. Here you can read longreads and news, watch live streams and sports content from bloggers and clubs, discuss matches, and be part of the largest sports community.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Sports.ru has a team that develops sections on sports betting – from forecasts and analytics to its own betting wiki.
We are currently looking for an SEO Specialist to help us strengthen our positions in search results and launch major SEO projects. You will work in a cross-functional team with a lead, editorial, product, and development teams – and directly influence the growth of the direction.
With us, you will:
- Promote Sports.ru sections in Google and Yandex, conduct technical SEO audits.
- Collect and cluster semantics, find new traffic growth opportunities.
- Develop and improve the site structure.
- Work with on-page SEO: optimize landing pages, metadata, internal linking, and behavioral factors.
- Analyze positions and traffic, evaluate results, and develop the SEO strategy.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES
- You have experience working with large informational sites and event content (from 1 million pages).
- You understand the principles of ranking informational queries in Google and Yandex. You know how to collect and analyze data in analytics services.
- You are proficient in Excel or Google Sheets: use pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas.
- You have experience with SEO parsers: Screaming Frog or similar tools.
- You know how to set technical specifications for copywriters and developers, as well as control the quality of task completion.
- You understand the basics of SSR and microservice architecture at the level of setting tasks for development.
- It will be a plus if you have experience with the betting niche.
WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURN
Comfort and care:
- We do not engage in micromanagement or control working hours, as we trust our people. Therefore, we have a flexible start and end to the workday, which you can determine yourself.
- Convenient work format. You can work fully remotely; if desired, there is an opportunity to visit our cozy office in the center of Moscow.
- Voluntary medical insurance with dental coverage throughout the Russian Federation from the first working day. A personal annual budget for sports activities for all employees and for co-working space rental if you are not working in Moscow.
- If you need a vacation, we will always grant it to you. As well as sick leave, which in most cases does not lead to a loss of income.
- As a pleasant bonus, we have an employee loyalty program with hundreds of different discounts.
Learning and development support:
- We have very supportive management that genuinely invests in their employees. More than half of them have grown within the company, and this is indicative for us.
- We value feedback, so we utilize practices that help us improve: one-to-ones, performance reviews.
- We regularly purchase access to popular conferences for teams so that our guys are always up-to-date.
- We don't forget about classic learning tools either, so we offer compensation for specialized courses.
Not just colleagues, but a community:
- We enjoy spending time together not only at work, which is why we have various interest-based communities: a football team, a FIFA club, a film club. We love board games, practice random coffee chats, and simply have calls during the week to chat with colleagues on casual topics.
- We generally have decent and down-to-earth people working here. No pretentiousness, snobbery, or showing off. No stuffiness or toxicity.
WHAT THE HIRING PROCESS LOOKS LIKE
We are not fond of formalities or drawn-out processes, and we approach hiring the same way. You can expect:
- An interview with a potential manager, lasting no more than an hour, where we will discuss your experience and our tasks.
- A small test assignment that will help us assess your basic skills.
- A final interview with the Traffic Department Director and HRD, where we will finally make sure we are a good fit for each other.
