Day 2 at Sierra, I pitched my first customer ( Jenna Granneman), got a three-hour platform deep dive from Nishita J., and re-learned how to code (roughly in that order). There were certainly hiccups (my first PR had so many bugs that Nat Meurer made me split it into ten smaller ones to fix them all), but we got there. The level of ownership we take on here from day one is unreasonable, but that's the best part.

Since then…

• Areeb Khan, Marco Wang, Mindy L. and I traveled to Singapore for a week to build our first agents live with the Singtel team (and try durian and bullfrog)
• Catherine M., Danny Lee and I have had many a philosophical debate about how our agents earn greeting acceptance - some combination of voice realism, proof of capability, and conversational wit.
• I've gotten to work with Kaila F., Tristan Cooper and the best SE team to turn "we don't have that yet"s into working demos within 48 hours, and scalable platform features within days.
• And I will never live down sending Carine Yahinian a demo that accidentally recorded my Spotify as background noise (she did not love "The Ordinary" as an agent soundtrack, and I now triple-check every recording like my life depends on it).

This is the best job I've had so far; the work is delightfully ambiguous, your job changes every day, and the buck stops with you. If this sounds like fun, intriguing, or any combination of the two: I'm hiring!
