Looking for a Lead Data Science Engineer

Client: #1 AI job search platform. AI agents help candidates find vacancies, adapt and improve resumes, and automatically apply for suitable positions. In 2 years, the company became profitable, raised $3.7 million in investments, has 2 million visitors per month, and 50K+ paid subscribers. The current staff is 90+ people.

Location: remote work or office/hybrid in Warsaw/Minsk (if desired). CET ±2. Not RF. Work format: B2B contract (Sole Proprietorship, self-employment, incubator, etc.) with a US legal entity. Full-time only.

Looking for a strong technical lead who will head the DS/ML team and be responsible for the development and evolution of the product's AI functionality. The main focus is on recommendation systems, but you will also work with classification, matching, structured data extraction, and AI agents. This is a hands-on position – it is important not only to manage the team and make architectural decisions but also to independently write production code, develop and launch ML solutions.

Main tasks: 🔹 Development of recommendation systems: retrieval, ranking, personalization, working with behavioral data 🔹 Defining the technical strategy and roadmap for the AI direction in collaboration with Product and Engineering 🔹 Leading the DS/ML team: planning, code review, mentoring, expertise development 🔹 Development and implementation of ML models, LLM-based solutions, and AI agents. 🔹 Building processes for evaluating model quality, conducting experiments and A/B tests 🔹 Ensuring stable operation of ML solutions in production

Requirements: ✅ 5+ years of experience in Data Science / ML Engineering, including 2+ years in managing a DS/ML team ✅ Mandatory production experience with recommendation systems (retrieval, ranking, personalization) ✅ Strong Python and SQL, current hands-on development experience ✅ Experience in the full ML development cycle: from data and model training to deployment, monitoring, and optimization ✅ Understanding of ML system design, embeddings, feature engineering, offline evaluation, and A/B testing ✅ Practical experience with LLMs and understanding of their capabilities and limitations.

Experience with marketplaces, hybrid search, vector databases, ANN, AI agents will be a plus.
