CM IMMERSIVE (CMI) is a remote-first video games development studio with HQ in Tallinn, Estonia at ~30 contributors. CMI is focused on creating and publishing premium games for virtual reality and PC, currently known for the Into The Radius series, reaching more than one million players worldwide.
This role is oriented both inwards and outwards. Externally, you will maintain relationships with platform partners, franchise owners and publishers — figuring out milestones, bottlenecks, communication loops, and delivering what each contract milestone asks for, on time and in a form that partners can accept.
Internally, you will be regularly managing production, to minimize friction. When something new arrives — a direction from the producer, a request from a partner — you work out where it fits, who is needed, when, and whether the resources exist, and then you organize the flow, so the work in progress is not disrupted. As project's lead, Producer is responsible for the product and the schedule; Associate Producer supports them so that everyone can stay on the schedule.
We are looking for contributors who are European Union residents, ready to work B2B. The renumeration is at €recruiter contact net. This role reports to the Producer.
What you'll do
- Get to know every partner we work with — platforms, franchise owners, publishers — and what each of them needs. When a partner asks for something, work out how to deliver it given the studio's current load, with minimal production cost
- Prepare and share deliverables by milestone, and push them through acceptance
- Aggregate what the studio has to say, and relay it to the partners in a timely fashion
- Keep the production documentation and Jira up to date: sprints matching plans, tasks having statuses, prioritized, fitting the requirements, filled proper
- Observe the flow of production and raise flags adequately — adjusting time, allocation, nudging when needed, without taking the control over
- Immerse in VR game development as a professional field: technology, games, market
What we expect from you
- A sufficient game development experience allowing you to understand how the studio works, and a business dimension of making games
- Communicating, coordinating, negotiating adequately, and caring about the studio's agenda in every conversation. You agree on the requirements and documents, and hold each side to what is agreed
- Likewise, you communicate clearly in English at C1 de-facto, both written and spoken, and you can support other team members, including the Producer, getting up to speed with using English as a primary language
- An extensive experience with Jira, including setting up boards, workflows and dashboards yourself
- You take the initiative and responsibility for the result, autonomously: nobody needs to hand you a next task over, fully shaped up
- You want the team to do it's best, and you clear out obstacles. You would feel accomplished if the new team emerges as a creative unit, and you are ready to work every day for that
Nice to have
- Experience going through one game release in a production role
- A game publishing work experience fits this role well too; does not need to be extensive
- Experience working with VR titles
- Experience working on a project built with Unreal Engine
- Experience with distributed and / or co-dev teams across time zones
Thanks for considering this opportunity!
