About the project:
We are the leading classifieds platform, holding the #1 position in Uzbekistan. Our platform serves over 6 million active users per month (MAU) and manages a database of 2.2 million active listings.
Your mission:
Become the technical owner of the search core and recommendation system. You will develop search tools based on Apache Solr, implement personalized ranking and vector search, ensuring instant and relevant system responses under a load of tens of millions of requests.
Key tasks:
- Search Core Development: Expert configuration, optimization, and scaling of Solr Cloud within the AWS EKS environment.
- Multilingual Search: Improving search quality for Uzbek (Cyrillic/Latin) and Russian languages, working with morphology and synonyms.
- Vector Search: Implementing hybrid search using semantic vectors (embeddings) to enhance search result accuracy.
- Personalized Ranking: Implementing LTR (Learning to Rank) algorithms based on user behavior data streams from our Data Platform.
- High-Load Optimization: Tuning system performance during peak load handling and working with distributed caching.
We expect:
- Big-Ecom Experience: You have successfully solved search problems in high-load projects such as Avito, Ozon, Wildberries, Lamoda, or Auto.ru.
- Deep Solr Expertise: You understand the internal workings of Apache Solr, can write custom plugins, configure complex indexing schemas, and perform deep performance tuning.
- Mastery in Go: Proficient in Golang for developing high-performance microservices around the search core.
- Vector & Personalization: Experience with vector search and user-experience-based ranking algorithms.
- Infrastructure: Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Kubernetes/EKS).
