About the team
2GIS for iOS and Android is a complex application with a 3D map engine, a directory, and search algorithms for businesses and routes. The data that comes into the applications is generated by hundreds of backends deployed in our data centers, enabling the mobile client to solve user tasks.
As part of the mobile development service expansion, we are growing our team — Platform Backend Services.
Reasons for changes
Currently, the backend related to mobile products is supported by several adjacent teams, which complicates coordination and slows down development.
We aim to concentrate expertise closer to mobile development to accelerate processes and improve service stability.
Goals and objectives of the new team
Ensure stable support for the mobile application update server system.
Strengthen system monitoring and logging.
Centralize key backends within the Mobile division, maintain and develop them.
Reduce technical and organizational risks.
What you will do
- Design technical solutions for integration tasks of varying complexity, closely interacting with mobile client teams.
- Take responsibility for the product's codebase and demonstrate a proactive approach to improving the quality of the project's architecture.
- Deliver high-load services using CI/CD in K8s across multiple data centers.
- Demonstrate a structured approach to writing tests.
- Ensure uninterrupted service operation and the defined SLO level.
- Be a role model for less experienced colleagues and embody our values for the entire team.
What we expect from you
- At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing backend services using any programming language.
- At least 4 years of practical experience developing in Go.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, and message brokers.
- Ability to express your thoughts in a structured and accessible manner, and to defend your position with arguments.
- You are focused on solving user and business problems, and technologies are not an end in themselves.
