About the company:
This is an AI-native fintech startup building an EMI (Electronic Money Institution) and payment infrastructure from scratch for European merchants.
- Direct participant in international payment systems
- Licenses: Cyprus (CBC) and UK (FCA)
- Currently in pre-launch stage (launch - summer 2026)

You won't just be writing code – you'll be building the core of the product:
- Financial backend (ledger, settlement, processing)

Who are we looking for?
- Strong Senior Full Stack Engineer
- Backend-oriented (≈50/50 or backend-heavy)
- High level of autonomy and ownership
- Experience building production-ready products, not internal tools
- Ability to make decisions without detailed task specifications
- Experience in the fintech domain or willingness and readiness to quickly learn
- Product thinking: focus on quality and user experience;
- Understanding: what a reliable product is, SLA, fault tolerance, metrics, monitoring, tracing
Technical requirements:
Backend
- Kotlin (priority) / Java
- Spring Boot
- REST API, webhook processing
- PostgreSQL
- Event-driven approach
Frontend
- Any modern framework (React / Vue / Angular - not critical)
- Important: production experience, not a specific stack
Infrastructure
- Docker, Kubernetes (understanding, not necessarily DevOps level)
- CI/CD, Git
Additional
- BPMS (Camunda / BPMN) - desirable
- OAuth / Okta
- Working with APIs and integrations
AI-first approach:
- Mandatory use of AI tools in development
- Working through agents - expected default
- Important: understand what is being generated / be able to explain decisions / use AI for acceleration and quality
