E-commerce (ecom) is one of the strategic development directions for Search and the search portal. We are developing ecom scenarios in Search and new products, and we need high-quality and effective tools for content promotion.
Our group develops advertising ecom scenarios and is closely integrated with the banner system — the heart of Yandex advertising technologies. Advertising services process hundreds of thousands of requests per second with an SLA of a few hundred milliseconds. A major challenge for us is optimizing mature advertising pipelines for ecom formats and developing new promotion mechanics: enriching search results, end-to-end ranking, new advertising products.

Developing ecom formats for Search Search results are changing, becoming more enriched on the product slice. You will be adding product data to new formats, building product embeddings, creating product factors, and using them in ranking.
Improving ecom markup of the ad database The database of advertisements contains billions of documents. For effective work on the ecom slice, it is important to maintain complete and high-quality mapping of documents to the product and category database, collect real-time statistics of organic and advertising interactions with product cards, monitor price dynamics, and much more.
Development and support of a high-load runtime You will write code in C++ and Python and propose ways to improve our products.
