🦋 TWINBY is a service for checking compatibility and finding new acquaintances. Our goal is to become the №1 dating app in Russia, replacing you-know-what. We are doing great at this: Twinby has already been downloaded by over 14 million users.

We are building a reliable platform: ingestion → DWH/data marts → BI/analytics → product solutions. Now we are looking for a Data Engineer to strengthen our pipelines, data quality, and storage performance.

Our stack: Python, ClickHouse, CockroachDB, DataLens, JupyterLab / DataSphere, GitLab, Airflow, AppMetrica / Metric / GA.

Responsibilities in the team:

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Airflow;
• Design the data layer in ClickHouse: schemas, partitioning, sorting, engines (MergeTree family), deduplication, query optimization;
• Build data marts/layers for BI (DataLens) and analysts;
• Ensure data quality: checks, alerts, freshness/completeness control, incident resolution.

Our expectations:

• 2–4 years of experience in data engineering;
• Proficient Python for ETL: working with APIs, data processing, clean code architecture;
• Practical experience with orchestrators (we use Airflow): planning, monitoring, incidents, backfill;
• Experience with analytical databases (we use ClickHouse) and understanding its features (partitions/order key, merges, TTL, FINAL, dictionaries/materialized views);
• Experience in building DWH/data marts and layers (stg/core/mart), data catalog/lineage;
• Excellent SQL and experience in optimizing queries/models.

**Will be a plus:

• **In-depth understanding of relational DBMS and internals: indexes, execution plans, normalization/denormalization, query optimization;
• Experience in diagnosing and solving performance issues (we have CockroachDB).
