42 is an AI research lab that develops an autonomous AI Scientist — a system capable of independently formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, and finding solutions.

The lab's initial focus is on financial markets: the AI system operates as an autonomous trader, and the capital generated finances further research. In parallel, the lab conducts research in human biology, neurotechnology, and fundamental physics.

Currently, there are 3 open positions in trading research:

📈 TradFi Research Lead

Task — to build and lead the research direction in traditional markets: develop MFT strategies, build portfolios and risk/execution models, bring strategies into production.

We are looking for 5+ years in systematic quant research, a proven track record of profitable MFT strategies, and experience with equities / futures / options / FX. Leadership experience is mandatory.

🤖 AI Researcher — Autonomous Research

Task — to transition from manual quant research to an autonomous agent-driven system that generates hypotheses, tests, and optimizes strategies on its own.

We are looking for an MFT/HFT researcher with a strong understanding of market microstructure, statistics, and Python/ML, capable of formalizing the research process for automation.

💰 Quantitative Researcher — Crypto MFT

Task — full cycle development of medium-frequency crypto strategies: from alpha discovery and backtesting to production and monitoring of live performance.

We are looking for 2+ years in systematic trading, experience launching strategies live, a deep understanding of crypto market structure (spot, perps, funding), and strong Python, statistics, and ML/DL skills.
