Java Developer for the Content Team at OK, Saint Petersburg

Odnoklassniki is the largest entertainment social network in Russia. We recently had a major update: OK is now a territory of hobbies. Here you can find a lot of cool and high-quality content dedicated to even very rare hobbies. And OK is also a team that has been getting sincere emotions and enjoyment from the brand, content, and digital technologies since 2006. The range of tasks at OK is wider than in most projects. This is a great driver for learning top technologies, approaches, and solutions in real conditions. Now we are looking for a Backend Developer for the content team. The team is developing high-load services for content, such as the feed, commenting system, and others. It integrates with related systems to enrich with new types of content, influencing key product metrics: DAU and Timespent.

Our stack: Java 8-17 inclusive, Spring (DI Framework), Cassandra (and storage solutions based on it), SQL, Kafka, Git, Gradle, Junit, Mockito.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product features, work through requirements, decompose and estimate timelines, develop and launch in production
• Support and improve existing services, refactor and optimize code
• Conduct code reviews for colleagues, write unit tests for your code

Requirements

• Have at least three years of experience in Java development
• Have experience in developing multithreaded applications
• Confidently know classic algorithms and data structures
• Have experience working with distributed systems
• Have worked with NoSQL and SQL databases
