Oracle DBA Consultant (Application-Facing | Performance & High Availability)

Location: Belgrade, Serbia | Hybrid work model**

We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA Consultant to join our team in Serbia!

This is not a typical DBA position. You will work at the intersection of Oracle infrastructure, application performance, and ensuring high availability of databases.

The main business logic of our platform is implemented in Oracle PL/SQL, so your work will directly impact the performance, stability, and fault tolerance of WAY4 — a digital payments platform used by financial organizations worldwide.

What you will do:

🌸Maintain and optimize Oracle databases where critical business logic is implemented: PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and triggers. 🌸Engage in performance tuning, analyze SQL query execution plans, and identify the causes of slow business operation execution. 🌸Ensure high availability and fault tolerance of databases using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and cluster solutions. 🌸Collaborate with internal teams and client technical specialists when diagnosing problems, updating databases, and configuring fault-tolerant setups. 🌸Participate in database migrations, load testing, and assessing the impact of new features on system performance. 🌸Contribute to solution architecture design, implementation plan preparation, and technical documentation. 🌸Diagnose and resolve complex incidents in production and pre-production environments. 🌸Participate in the deployment and setup of new environments for clients worldwide.

Important: This position does not involve on-call rotation.

What we expect from a candidate:

💦IT experience of 5+ years, with at least 3 years working with Oracle Database. 💦Deep practical knowledge of Oracle administration, performance tuning, and SQL execution plan optimization. 💦Understanding of Oracle PL/SQL and its role in implementing application business logic. 💦Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, backup/recovery procedures. 💦Experience supporting large OLTP systems and highly available architectures. 💦Solid Linux/Unix administration and problem-solving skills. 💦Experience directly interacting with external clients and solving complex technical challenges. 💦English language proficiency sufficient for professional communication.
