The fourth cohort of the "Goryashchaya Izba" Junior Author Workshop is launching. This is a special program from the publication's team that will help you gain practical skills in working with texts of various styles and enhance your portfolio.

What the program includes

Under the guidance of "Goryashchaya Izba" editors, you will try your hand at different genres. Over four working weeks, we will cover four types of media texts and learn how to work with them.

📌 Quizzes are the calling card of "Goryashchaya Izba." Behind their apparent simplicity lies a lot of work. We will learn how to come up with catchy ideas and make quizzes truly engaging.

🎬 Movie Selections — we'll figure out how to select films and package selections so that people want to save them.

🖋 Interviews — we will find subjects, ask precise questions, and turn conversations into strong texts.

📊 Analytical Columns — we'll help you find your own voice and make your arguments in a well-reasoned way.

What participants will get

— Basic theory to help you understand the principles of working with text.

— Experience working on texts from scratch — from topic selection to fact-checking and final edits.

— Experience working with editors, constructive feedback to help you grow and develop.

— The opportunity to publish articles on the "Goryashchaya Izba" website and add them to your portfolio.

— An official letter to your university about completing an internship (if needed).

Timeline

The workshop runs for four working weeks — from March 16 to April 10. It's a remote format: you plan your own time for working on texts. All calls with editors take place during business hours Moscow time.

How to participate

Fill out the application and complete a short test assignment by February 23rd, inclusive. We will select 10 people whose ideas will touch our hearts.
