Senior Payment Engineer — Netz.ai (Go / Node.js)

VAMI is looking for an engineer for a startup that is building an AI-native commerce platform for DTC businesses with a subscription model. The project is funded by founders who have built a portfolio of e-commerce businesses with an annual revenue of $100M+.

What you'll be doing

Developing our own payment infrastructure together with the CTO: orchestration and routing between providers and MIDs, card vault and tokenization, recurring payments, rebilling, retries, and protection against double charges. Connecting acquirers and bringing solutions to production.

Who we're looking for

• Senior backend engineer with 5+ years of commercial development experience and strong Go or Node.js/TypeScript skills.
• With practical experience in payment orchestration and card tokenization, understanding of PCI DSS and secure handling of card data.
• With experience with multiple PSPs/acquirers, recurring payments, decline processing, and idempotency.
• With startup experience and the ability to independently manage tasks from technical solution design to launch.
• With daily use of Claude Code, Codex, or similar coding agents.
• With very advanced English for communication with an international team and explaining technical solutions to founders.

A big plus would be network tokens, account updater, high-risk/continuity, and payments for physical goods.

Conditions

Fully remote work, full-time without parallel projects, B2B, and overlap with Cyprus working hours. A small engineering team, direct interaction with the CTO, and the opportunity to influence the product architecture.
