AI-native Backend Developer / AI Engineer
Posted July 8, 2026
We are building a B2C well-being app — a mix of an AI therapist and Brain Fitness. The product itself is entirely built with AI tools (fully vibe-coded), but this is not a prototype: it has live users, growing revenue, and a real product.
You will be working not on the application itself, but on its foundation — the payment and data infrastructure that everything relies on. Payment provider webhooks, analytics, billing, and chargeback protection. A significant part of the work is routine, but with a high cost of error in real money, so we need an engineer who will delve deeply into the details.
How we work
We practically don't write code by hand. The primary development method is code generation by agents (Claude Code / Codex). Key skills for this role:
- clearly setting tasks for the agent and decomposing them so that it can handle them
- thoughtfully reviewing the generated code
- sensing where the agent might have made a mistake or "messed up," and double-checking those specific places
The agent writes the code, but you are responsible for the result.
Working in tandem with the Tech Lead: they set the direction and priorities — you implement through agents and bring it to production.
What you will be doing (real projects)
- Receiving and processing payment webhooks: verifying signatures, parsing events, routing by domains
- Back-office and billing — admin panel and API for managing subscriptions, transactions, taxes, and dispute prevention (Django + DRF, Celery)
- Data pipelines — synchronization of payment and marketing data in BigQuery, analytical models, reporting (Cloud Run Jobs, Metabase)
- Integrations — payment providers, marketing platforms, taxes
- Internal tools and automations for the team
Specifically about support
Integrations are in constant motion: today we connect a new payment provider, a week later it's no longer needed and is disconnected. However, historical data remains with us forever — it must continue to be processed correctly. The main engineering challenge here is to ensure that this flow of changes doesn't turn support into a nightmare: clean boundaries, backward compatibility, careful migrations.
Our stack
The core is Python, Django + DRF, Celery, Valkey, PostgreSQL, BigQuery. Some services and the application are on Node/TypeScript. We are not tied to one language and don't require "5 years on framework X" — it's more important how quickly you, along with Claude Code, understand unfamiliar code.
What is important
- Strong engineering skills — understanding of architecture, APIs, databases
- AI-native mindset: Claude Code / Codex is your daily tool. You already know how to work through agents, not just manually
- Meticulousness with data and money — you double-check, not rely on assumptions
- Willingness to build infrastructure and see it through to completion — we are a small team, there are no lengthy approvals or micromanagement here
- Independence + ability to work in tandem with the Tech Lead
- Readiness to learn new things quickly — the stack and tasks change
Bonus points (but not required)
- Experience with payment / fintech infrastructure, webhooks
- Experience with LLM/AI in production: agents, RAG, embeddings, quality evaluation
- Experience with cloud (GCP), CI/CD, Celery, data queues
- Experience in startups / small teams
Why our vacancy is top-notch
- You are working at the forefront of how development is structured in 2026 — not "writing code," but orchestrating agents and being responsible for quality
- If you know something better than the Tech Lead — that's a plus. Bring sound ideas and implement them — there's no competition for authority here, just a common interest in doing things well
- Above-average engineering culture: ADR, tests, feature flags, clean module boundaries — the "boring" stuff is done right here
- Direct work with the Tech Lead and founders, fast iterations, real impact on the product
- Global market, salary in dollars
Conditions
- Full remote, work in European time zone
- Full-time, flexible schedule
- Salary in dollars
