The Customer Digital Profile team of the Corporate and Investment Block is looking for a Data Scientist intern to work with data.

Mandatory - student, currently studying full-time at a university, technical specialty.

Goal - creation of ML models that will bring value to the business.

A desire to understand MLE and participate in preparing models for production deployment is welcome.

There is a lot of data and it is stored in corporate data warehouses built on Hadoop, Teradata, and various RDBMS. Our team is one of the leaders in expertise and knowledge; our DEs are developing a huge ML feature store.

We process data on our own Hadoop cluster with Spark 3.4, python 3.8+. We also have a GPU cluster with A100 for experiments.

A few numbers to understand the scale and prospects of the research:

• Over 80% of the corporate market in Russia is within our scope. Of these, over 2 million companies are our clients and generate over 1 billion transactions daily.

• Terabytes of memory and ~240 cpu cores in sandboxes for DS work.

Responsibilities

Examples of tasks:

• development of uplift models
• development of Classic ML models (Catboost, XGBoost, LightGBM) / DL (DragonNet)
• development of our own framework for process automation.

What we will do during the internship: data analysis, hypothesis testing, model development.

Requirements

• knowledge of the Python programming language and data analysis libraries (Pandas or Polars)
• knowledge in the field of machine learning and data analysis
• understanding of machine learning metrics (classification / regression)
• knowledge of SQL and basics of working with data
• desire to work with data, look for patterns, find insights.

It will be a plus if you have:

• experience working with big data (PySpark)
• knowledge of model calibration methods.
