Java Developer for the Balancer Team at Unified Cloud Technologies, Moscow

We create and implement cloud technologies for one of the largest server infrastructures. Our technology platform includes S3 storage, databases, One Cloud, metrics systems, unified configuration, monitoring, and development and diagnostics tools. We develop new solutions and create open-source programs.

The balancer team develops and maintains the cloud's network services. A large portion of VK Group's traffic passes through our balancers, making their reliability a key factor in stable business operations.

Our team is responsible for services managing L4/L7 balancers and DNS records, as well as a high-load service for managing L4 balancer routing tables. L7 is based on Envoy HTTP proxy, which is becoming the new standard for L7 load balancing.

Our users are developers and SREs across the entire group of companies. For them, we strive to make the infrastructure around network services simple, user-friendly, and maximally stable.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing infrastructure Java applications around DNS, L4/L7 load balancing, and related network services
• Studying existing code, writing new code and tests in Java
• Organizing the collection and delivery of metrics, implementing monitoring and alerts for critical network infrastructure components

Requirements

• At least three years of development experience
• Knowledge of basic data structures and algorithms, and the ability to assess their complexity
• Proficient in Java
