Developer for the Localization, Maps, and Calibrations Service of Autonomous Transport
We are Yandex Autonomous Transport's localization, calibration, and distributed lidar map team. We process data from numerous sensors installed on board vehicles to create a consistent picture of the surrounding world and determine the precise position of the vehicle and the parameters of its movement.
Localization of the autonomous vehicle in urban areas and on highways You will be involved in finding the optimal overlay of a lidar scan on a three-dimensional terrain reconstruction. Improving the quality of determining the vehicle's own speed based on data from lidars, radars, and cameras. Enhancing the predictive model of movement for a tractor with a trailer. Ensuring fault-tolerant localization under all conditions.
Building and updating the lidar map You will develop algorithms for building three-dimensional world reconstructions based on lidar data. Engage in detecting map obsolescence and creating processes for its automatic updating. Scale and optimize cloud pipelines for sensor data processing. Work on building the map on-board the vehicle.
Sensor calibration You will need to develop algorithms for ultra-precise determination of the position of lidars, cameras, and radars on the vehicle body. Accelerate and automate the sensor calibration process after assembly or repair and ensure its reliability. Detect misalignment and correct it "on the fly".
