Ayan Capital is a British fintech company creating Sharia-compliant financial products. We are developing a digital platform for financial services and are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of infrastructure development, improve its reliability, and automate development and operational processes.
We need an engineer who can independently make technical decisions, assess risks, and ensure changes are stably deployed to production.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS
- Ensure stable operation of Kubernetes clusters and microservices in production
- Develop Infrastructure as Code: reproducible environments, reusable modules, and managed changes
- Improve CI/CD based on GitHub Actions: speed up builds, automate checks, ensure secure releases and rollbacks
- Develop monitoring, logging, and alerting, define service reliability metrics
- Organize incident post-mortems, eliminate root causes, and prevent recurrence
- Design and test backup, data recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Enhance infrastructure security: manage access, secrets, network rules, and updates
- Optimize performance, resource utilization, and cloud costs
- Collaborate with developers to refine architectural solutions and ensure service operability
- Document solutions, conduct infrastructure code reviews, and share knowledge with the team
What we are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps / SRE, including independent responsibility for production infrastructure
- Deep knowledge of Linux and networking: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing, and network troubleshooting
- Experience building observability systems: metrics, logs, traces, and meaningful alerts
- Understanding of fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery approaches
- Proficiency in Bash and Python or another automation language
- Hands-on experience resolving complex incidents and conducting root cause analysis
- Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, justify decisions, and consider product needs
Will be a plus
- Experience in fintech, banking, or payment services
- Experience with GitOps approaches, working with Argo CD or Flux
- Experience operating PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis
- Experience with NATS / JetStream, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
- Familiarity with Grafana, Sentry, and ELK
- Experience implementing SLI/SLO and working with error budgets
- Participation in preparing infrastructure for ISO 27001 requirements
