Frontend Developer for the IDE Plugins Team (VS Code)

Yandex has its own ecosystem of developer tools: version control systems, build systems, CI/CD, and deployment. Our goal is to integrate them with VS Code and JetBrains IDEs so that working with Yandex infrastructure is as convenient as using familiar tools.

Our plugins are used by thousands of developers monthly. Over the past two years, we have released plugins for Code Assistant—an AI assistant in the IDE, added support for the Spring Framework, and created an LSP for our build system.

What tasks await you

Developing and evolving the VS Code extension You will develop new features in TypeScript using the VS Code Extension API. Design the architecture of extension components. Work on integrations with internal systems.

Creating UI components You will develop complex user interfaces in React. Create convenient and responsive interfaces that help developers work more efficiently.

Integration with infrastructure You will work with internal APIs and services. When necessary—dive into code in Python, Go, or C++ for integration with the build system.

We expect that you

• Have strong proficiency in TypeScript
• Have development experience with React
• Can independently delve into unfamiliar codebases and technologies

Will be a plus

• Have developed extensions for VS Code or worked with its Extension API
• Program in Python
• Understand operating systems and cross-platform development
