Rockup is a startup creating a new format of social network and messenger focused on real-time geolocation. Imagine Telegram met Tinder, but with an emphasis on your location and community here and now. We are flexible and fast like a startup, but we stand on solid ground as we are supported by a profitable parent company. And now we are looking for an engineer ready to take full responsibility for the backend — from architecture to release. 💼 Responsibilities: Design and develop a scalable backend for a mobile application. Implement real-time communication and geolocation services. Optimize APIs for a smooth and fast mobile UX. Make key decisions regarding technology stack, infrastructure, and processes. Set up CI/CD, test, and deploy code seamlessly. Work closely with mobile developers. 🛠 Our ideal candidate: 5+ years of backend development experience (ideally in highload/B2C mobile applications). Strong Java skills, understanding of scalable architectures. Experience with RESTful and WebSocket APIs. Excellent knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL and geo-tools like PostGIS). Experience with clouds (AWS / GCP / Azure) and Docker. Understanding of security: OWASP Top 10, GDPR/HIPAA. English from Upper-Intermediate (Russian language will be a plus).
