Business Systems Analyst Billing
About the Company
MANGO OFFICE is the leader in the Russian cloud communications market and among the top 20 largest IT developers in Russia.
Over 1000 employees develop our virtual PBX, contact center, speech analytics, bots, integrations, and other tools for sales and customer service. MANGO OFFICE products are used by Skyeng, Citymobil, VkusVill, AlfaStrakhovanie, SberMarket, and other companies.
We are currently modernizing our in-house billing platform and are looking for a Lead Business Systems Analyst to work alongside the Technical Delivery Manager, architects, and development teams.
Role Objective
Billing is one of MANGO OFFICE's key systems. The client base is growing, new products and integrations are appearing, and a significant portion of the business logic has historically been concentrated in a monolithic database and stored procedures.
We are gradually:
- creating a unified billing API;
- migrating business logic from the database to services;
- separating transactional and analytical workloads;
- developing an event-driven architecture;
- extracting independent services;
- improving the reliability and manageability of releases.
The analyst's task is to understand the current system, reconstruct business rules and dependencies, describe target processes and contracts, and prepare a high-quality foundation for development and migration.
This is not a role for simply formatting ready-made requirements. You will need to independently research processes, data, integrations, stored procedures, and the existing implementation.
Who You'll Work With
The Analyst will work in tandem with the Technical Delivery Manager:
- The Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for the program, timelines, resources, dependencies, and delivery of results.
- The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the content of changes, requirements, data models, contracts, migration scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
You will also interact with architects, developers, database specialists, testing, operations, infrastructure, information security, product owners, and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
Explore the Current System
- Analyze billing business processes and related user scenarios.
- Analyze data structures, SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
- Study existing APIs, integrations, and direct database access.
- Reconstruct undocumented business rules.
- Identify data consumers, hidden dependencies, and inconsistencies.
- Analyze tasks, documentation, and incident history.
Design Target Solutions
- Describe current and target processes.
- Assist in defining the boundaries and responsibilities of future services.
- Formulate business, functional, and system requirements.
- Design REST APIs, events, and data models.
- Describe errors, edge cases, retry mechanisms, and transition states.
- Define data owners and rules for their modification.
- Participate in developing solutions for Kafka, CDC, and the separation of transactional and analytical workloads.
Prepare and Support Implementation
- Decompose solutions into development tasks.
- Formulate acceptance criteria and testing requirements.
- Conduct requirement reviews with developers and testers.
- Support implementation through to production launch.
- Participate in demonstrations and acceptance testing.
- Maintain documentation accuracy as the system evolves.
Develop Migration Strategies
- Describe the process for migrating logic from the database to services.
- Identify dependencies and consumers of old mechanisms.
- Design parallel operation of old and new solutions.
- Formulate requirements for data migration and reconciliation.
- Prepare switchover and rollback scenarios.
- Ensure the preservation of financial and functional correctness.
Use of AI in Work
We are looking for an analyst who actively uses AI tools or is ready to quickly integrate them into their daily work.
You will use AI for:
- analyzing documentation, requirements, and task history;
- identifying inconsistencies and missing scenarios;
- studying SQL and stored procedures;
- designing APIs and event contracts;
- preparing acceptance criteria and testing scenarios;
- creating diagrams, models, and draft documentation;
- accelerating research of complex systems.
It's important not just to generate text with AI, but to be able to verify model outputs, add context, and use tools to solve real analytical problems.
Additionally, the analyst will be able to connect with AI Product Lead initiatives and help with:
- researching processes for AI automation;
- formulating requirements for AI assistants and agents;
- designing integrations with corporate systems;
- building simple prototypes;
- verifying the technical feasibility of hypotheses.
We do not expect you to develop industrial AI systems. However, the analyst should be able to independently build a simple scenario using APIs, webhooks, n8n, Make, Cursor, Python, or similar tools.
Who We Are Looking For
- Five or more years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Business Systems Analyst.
- Experience with complex enterprise, high-load, or mission-critical systems.
- Strong SQL proficiency.
- Experience analyzing data structures, queries, and stored procedures.
- Experience designing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI, JSON, and XML.
- Practical proficiency in BPMN and UML.
- Ability to describe business processes, system interactions, and data models.
- Understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Ability to understand systems with incomplete or outdated documentation.
- Experience supporting requirements through to production deployment.
- Ability to work with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
- Independence, systems thinking, and attention to detail.
It will be difficult for us to work together if a candidate is accustomed to receiving fully formulated requirements and limiting themselves to transferring them to Jira.
AI Skill Requirements
- Regular use of ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Understanding of LLM principles, context, system instructions, and model limitations.
- Ability to verify the factual and technical correctness of responses.
- Basic understanding of RAG and how AI interacts with corporate knowledge.
- Understanding of the core elements of an AI agent: goal, context, tools, function calls, action sequences, error handling, result verification.
- Ability to work with APIs, JSON, and webhooks.
- Ability to build a simple automation prototype or agent scenario.
- Understanding of information security requirements when working with corporate data.
Bonus Points
- Experience in billing, telecom, fintech, or settlement systems.
- Experience migrating business logic and stored procedures to services.
- Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of distributed transactions, data consistency, and idempotency.
- Experience with CDC, Debezium, OLTP, and OLAP systems.
- Understanding of CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience describing requirements for performance, availability, and fault tolerance.
- Basic development experience or engineering education.
- Python proficiency.
- Experience with n8n, Make, LangChain, LlamaIndex, LangGraph, OpenAI API, or MCP.
- Experience creating AI assistants, RAG systems, or simple AI agents.
Expected Results in the First 6 Months
- Key processes, business rules, and dependencies described for the priority billing scope.
- Direct database accesses and major logic consumers identified.
- Boundaries, responsibilities, and data owners defined for the first extracted services.
- API and event contracts prepared.
- Requirements and migration scenarios for logic from the database formulated.
- First tasks handed over to development and supported until implementation.
- A regular analytical processing workflow established.
- AI tools are used in the analyst's daily work.
- First simple prototypes or automations created.
- The analyst is capable of contributing to AI Product Lead initiatives.
