Hello! This is VSRAP — a clothing brand and merchandise producer for popular artists. We have two stores in the capitals, VSRAP Podcast on YouTube (1 million+ subscribers) and a team with an average age between 20 and 35.
The task is to build a mobile application on React Native that completely replicates the functionality of the web version. Artists, their managers, label representatives, and VSRAP employees will use the app. This is a port of an existing product to a mobile platform with unified authorization through the existing backend, preserving all logic and scenarios.
What you will do at VSRAP
- Conduct an audit of the existing API (documentation in Scalar) and the React web version to understand the full scope of scenarios.
- Build a mobile application on React Native for iOS and Android.
- Implement unified authorization through the existing backend – a single account for web and mobile.
- Port all scenarios from the web version without omissions or simplifications.
- Adhere to the final mockups from Figma – the founder evaluates the visual aspect.
- Independently handle QA: the application must not crash on typical scenarios.
- Hand over source code, access credentials, and a README with build instructions.
- Prepare builds for TestFlight and APK – we will create the developer accounts in App Store and Google Play.
What we expect from you
- Commercial React Native development experience (minimum 2 projects in portfolio).
- Ability to work with existing API: read documentation, ask the right questions, do not rewrite the backend unnecessarily.
- Experience in implementing authorization and working with tokens in mobile applications.
- Skill in following final mockups, not "improving" them to your own taste.
- Willingness to independently test your work before handover.
- Understanding of what a unified account for web and mobile means – and how it is technically implemented.
Will be a plus
- Experience porting a web application (React) to mobile (React Native).
- Experience with Express.js on the backend – at least at an understanding level.
- Experience publishing applications in the App Store and Google Play.
What we offer
- Timeline: 2 months for the first version. Stages and intermediate milestones are below.
- Format: initially a turnkey project (freelance), with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time position upon completion.
- Team: IT Director available for API consultations and intermediate control. Founder evaluates the visual aspect.
- Resources: API documentation in Scalar, React web version as a reference, final mockups in Figma, access to the repository from day one.
- Autonomy: within the code, you choose the architecture, libraries, and screen structure yourself. We do not dictate how to write.
- Honesty about challenges: this is not greenfield development. You will have to understand someone else's code and the existing API. If this is not your preferred format – it is better not to apply.
How to tell if everything is going well
In 2 months, we want to see:
- A working application for iOS and Android that completely replicates the web version's functionality.
- Unified authorization: a single account for web and mobile.
- Absence of critical bugs in typical scenarios: login, viewing lists, opening cards, order actions, logout.
- Compliance with final mockups from Figma.
- Source code in the repository, README with build instructions, builds for TestFlight and APK.
Intermediate milestones:
- API and web version audit, refined work plan, risk list.
- Working prototype with authorization and 2-3 key screens.
- Full functionality, internal testing.
- Bug fixing, handover of source code and builds.
Submit your application and let's meet for an interview.
