Online experiments allow Yandex services to test new ideas: from interface improvements to search algorithms and infrastructure innovations, and then implement them for real users. We develop the system for conducting online experiments, calculating metrics, and testing hypotheses. Our goal is to spread the culture and technology of A/B testing throughout Yandex.

Most Yandex services use our experiment platform, including Search, Images, Video, etc. The platform includes a high-load cloud service for dividing user requests into experimental groups, a statistics calculation system, a quality control system for experiments, and a system for visualizing experimental data.

We are looking for strong developers who will help us improve the experiment processes for one of our main customers - Yandex Advertising.

What tasks await you

• Develop metrics for analyzing Advertising experiments using C++, MapReduce, and distributed computing
• Speed up the experiment process, optimize the release cycle
• Increase the reliability of the experiment system, for example, quickly detect problematic experiments

We expect that you

• Have a confident knowledge of C++ or Python
• Know the approaches and principles of creating high-load scalable systems
• Know the basics of probability theory and mathematical statistics
