Location:** Belgrade or Novi Sad, Serbia, office

An international IT company is looking for a Database Engineer to operate and develop PostgreSQL/MySQL database infrastructure in a high-load environment. The role is at the intersection of DBA and system administration, involving work with databases, Linux infrastructure, and server hardware.

Responsibilities: — Deploy and administer PostgreSQL and MySQL (Percona Server). — Maintain and develop high-load clusters on bare metal. — Configure and optimize replication, backup, failover, and HA architecture. — Perform performance tuning for PostgreSQL/MySQL, Linux, and the storage subsystem. — Organize monitoring, alerts, and SLA control. — Participate in capacity planning and server configuration selection. — Troubleshoot incidents and conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis). — Automate infrastructure tasks using Ansible and scripting.

We are looking for a candidate who: ✔️ Has experience with Linux infrastructure. ✔️ Has practical experience operating PostgreSQL and MySQL/Percona. ✔️ Has worked with high-load systems. ✔️ Understands the principles of fault tolerance and HA cluster operation. ✔️ Has experience with Ansible. ✔️ Proficient in Bash and/or Python. ✔️ Has performance tuning experience. ✔️ Understands the architecture of server hardware and infrastructure. ✔️ Is independent, responsible, and has a systematic approach.

Will be a plus: • Percona Toolkit and PMM. • ClickHouse. • ELK / Graylog / LogHouse. • Zabbix or Prometheus. • Experience in Big Data, fintech, or high-load products.
