ML Engineer (Middle+/Senior)

We are Vadekvate, a startup in the online dating industry.

Our mission is to create a service that will help the maximum number of people find happy and healthy relationships. We believe that modern technologies can make people's lives better not only through convenience but also by helping them find a significant other.

We are currently building a next-generation dating platform where the focus is on the quality of connections, user compatibility, and long-term relationships, rather than endless swiping for the sake of swiping.

We are in the stage of active product development and preparation for an investment round. Investment attraction is expected in July–August 2026.

At this stage, cooperation is formalized through an agreement with deferred remuneration payment (Civil Law Contract/Sole Proprietorship), with an increased coefficient. After closing the investment round, we will transition to the standard monthly payment format (formalization under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation) and long-term cooperation within the team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML features for the dating platform: recommendations, search, security, and anti-fraud.
• Build recommendation systems and user compatibility models to improve matching quality.
• Develop NLP solutions for analyzing profiles, extracting structured features, and semantic search.
• Implement CV models for content moderation, photo authenticity verification, and AI-generated image detection.
• Create scoring models for risks, detection of bots, fakes, and fraudulent activity.
• Design the complete ML lifecycle: data preparation, training, quality evaluation, deployment, and model monitoring.
• Work closely with product, backend developers, and QA, participating in key technical decision-making.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an ML Engineer and strong proficiency in Python.
• Practical experience deploying ML models to production and supporting their lifecycle.
• Good knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with recommender systems, ranking, or personalization.
• Experience solving NLP tasks: embeddings, text classification, semantic search, retrieval.
• Understanding of MLOps practices: versioning, monitoring, evaluation, CI/CD for models.
• Ability to independently make technical decisions and build an ML direction practically from scratch.

Will be a plus:

• Experience in Computer Vision: content moderation, face analysis, deepfake detection.
• Experience creating anti-fraud and risk models.
• Experience working with LLMs, RAG, and modern open-source models.
• Experience with vector search (Qdrant, FAISS, Weaviate, etc.).
• Experience with graph models and recommender systems.
