Employment: Full-time (5/2, from 09:00 to 18:00 or from 10:00 to 19:00)
Contract Type: Agreement with sole proprietor / Self-employment (in the Russian Federation) or direct contract (outside the Russian Federation).
Salary range: from 3500 to 6500 dollars
Tasks:
- Development and operation of a self-managed K8s (bare-metal) platform without boxed managed solutions
- Administration of HA PostgreSQL clusters (Patroni), replication, ensuring RPO/RTO and validation of backups
- Scaling GitOps (ArgoCD: app-of-apps, ApplicationSet) and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI
- Host configuration management via Salt (or Ansible) with a focus on idempotency
- Rotation of secrets, keys, and certificates via HashiCorp Vault + External Secrets
- Development of monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana), incident investigation
- Elimination of technical debt and updating runbooks/documentation to minimize bus factor
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform, including 2+ years with self-managed K8s in production
- Deep K8s knowledge: manual cluster building/upgrades (kubeadm/kubespray), etcd, certificate rotation, PDB
- Practical GitOps: ArgoCD (or Flux), managing selective prune and risks on stateful applications
- Confident administration of PostgreSQL in production with Patroni and PITR
- Experience with configuration management (SaltStack or Ansible) and GitLab CI
- Solid understanding of Linux (systemd, network limits, kernel tuning) and network security (Ingress, TLS)
- Automation skills in Python / Bash / Go
- Meticulousness with production environments (mandatory dry-run and staging) and autonomy — must have
Advantageous:
- Experience with Cilium / eBPF data plane (Kube-proxyless) and Hubble
- Building multi-region connectivity (IPSec/WireGuard, DNS split-horizon)
- Experience in iGaming / highload fintech (anti-DDoS, Cloudflare WAF)
