Commerce: Advertising
We are looking for an editor for the Aviasales advertising team who will prepare commercial articles for our brand media and become a link between the editorial team and the advertising team.
PSR is an Aviasales travel magazine. We show, explain, and convince our readers how incredibly cool and important it is to travel the world — or at least visit the neighboring village twice a year.
We need a person who not only writes and edits well but also loves to come up with ideas from scratch, can argue their position, and arrange things so that both the editorial team and the partner are happy.
If all this fills you with enthusiasm, not a desire to hide under a table — we will be a good match.
This is a contract position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
What needs to be done
- manage commercial articles from idea to publication: come up with concepts, write texts, go through approvals, make edits, order visuals, and lay out materials in the admin panel;
- come up with topics based on advertising partners' requests, including finding non-obvious ways to connect brands with travel;
- communicate with the advertising team: discuss ideas and concepts, work with client feedback, and argue for editorial decisions;
- follow the editorial plans and suggest which clients or categories can be natively integrated into future materials, proactively come up with topics that may be of interest to both PSR readers and potential advertisers; come up with new commercial formats and sections with us.
What we expect from you
- at least 3 years of experience as an editor: it is important that you have written a lot yourself and are confident working with article format;
- experience with commercial and native materials;
- ability to work with demanding clients and a large amount of feedback: ask questions, understand vague briefs, propose solutions, and argue your position;
- ability not just to follow a brief, but to come up with topics and concepts from scratch;
- independence and responsibility: the ability to manage a project from start to finish without managerial control over all decisions;
- good editorial taste, literacy, and meticulous work with words;
- understanding that a good commercial text must solve the client's problem, while remaining a quality text that is interesting for our audience to read;
- initiative and a desire to bring your own ideas, not just work with incoming tasks.
A small attentiveness test: along with your application, be sure to send a link to your portfolio and in your cover letter, tell us about one article that was particularly difficult for you to work on. What exactly made it difficult, who did you have to negotiate with, and what was the result?
We include a test assignment in the interview process. In it, we want to see not only the final text but also how you work with the task, come up with, and formulate solutions.
How we work
- contract for a full-time job for a term of 6 months, with the possibility of extension
- from anywhere in the world: we are not tied to a location, we pay in dollars, we love to travel;
- no bureaucracy: convenient, human-centric processes, horizontal and open communication, quick discussion of ideas and decision-making;
