We are looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join the team that develops a product for business process automation. The main focus of the role is optimizing high-load databases and improving system performance: about 90% of working time will be related to analyzing and optimizing SQL queries, designing indexes, and tuning databases.

✔️ Main tasks: • Optimization of high-load databases — about 90% of working time. • Analysis of SQL query execution plans using EXPLAIN. • Design and optimization of indexes. • Identification of bottlenecks and tuning of database performance. • Development of the system's backend using PHP and Symfony. • Development and scaling of high-load services. • Improving the performance, stability, and fault tolerance of the product. • Participation in discussions and adoption of architectural decisions. • Working with queues and asynchronous processes. • Refactoring existing code and reducing technical debt. • Writing unit tests. • Participation in Code Review. • Working with complex business logic and a large number of interconnected processes.

✔️ Our expectations: • From 4 years of commercial backend development experience in PHP. • Deep knowledge of PHP 8+. • Strong practical experience in SQL query optimization. • Ability to analyze query plans, work with EXPLAIN, indexes, and database performance tuning. • Experience with Symfony or Laravel — the project uses Symfony 7+. • Understanding of software design principles and backend architecture. • Experience in developing and supporting high-load systems. • Experience in writing unit tests. • Experience in team development using Git and Code Review. • Confident work with Linux. • Deep experience with Redis: caching, queues, and cluster management. • Understanding of the principles of queue operation and asynchronous data processing. • Ability to understand complex existing code and systematically approach optimization.

Nice-to-have: • Experience with distributed systems. • Experience with RabbitMQ. • Practical experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. • Experience in optimizing high-load services and databases. • Experience with ClickHouse. • Experience in developing complex ERP systems or products with rich business logic. • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
