There will be a sheet of vacancy text Release Manager / Publishing Coordinator
In general, we are looking for a person who will help us release games on Steam.
We make games for an adult audience 18+, so an important point right away is that we need a person who approaches this calmly and professionally — without awkwardness, judgment, or strange excitement. This is just a specific aspect of the work.
What will need to be done: — Maintain release checklists for projects. What's ready, what's not ready, who's responsible. — Collect everything needed for Steam from the teams (builds, texts, screenshots, trailers, descriptions, news, and other materials). — Upload materials to Steamworks and help set up game pages. — Submit pages, builds, and materials for Steam review, track statuses, and help resolve feedback. — Communicate with PM, QA, developers, art, and marketing teams. — Highlight risks in advance if a release starts to falter, a build isn't ready, or someone disappears into the fog. — Participate in game launches, updates, patches, and post-release fixes. — Gradually bring the release process into a more understandable and calmer state.
Who we are looking for: — A person from game development or related fields would be best. QA, PM, production, publishing, operations, development — the title isn't as important as understanding how teams, deadlines, builds, bugs, and releases work. — Experience with Steamworks will be a big plus, but not mandatory. If you have already participated in releases, know how to manage the process, and are willing to learn Steam — we're good.
What's important: — You can organize tasks and bring them to completion. — You are comfortable clarifying, reminding, negotiating, and getting answers. — You are attentive to details and don't hope that "it will somehow come together on its own and they will figure it out." — You understand that a release is not one big heroic click, but many small checks leading up to it. — You are calm about 18+ adult content.
It will be especially great if: — You have participated in the release of games, demos, patches, DLCs, or updates. — You know what a Steam page, capsules, builds, tags, news, and store assets are. — You were part of a small game development team or an indie project where you had to do a little more than what was written in your job description. — You read documentation and interfaces in English without pain.
How we work — Remote, full-time. — You can work from Russia/Belarus/and generally from anywhere. — There will be direct interaction with the head of the Steam direction. — Several releases will be taking place in the near future, meaning the role is not "for later" but immediately involved in live processes.
