Senior Backend Developer

Combo Tech is looking for a strong senior developer to become the driver of architectural improvements and quality in the backend direction.

Responsibilities:

• Development of new features (50–75% of time).
• Full refactoring of critical system components (not just cosmetic changes).
• Enhancing the robustness of business logic and handling edge cases.
• Improving the monolithic architecture.
• Initiating structural changes (in agreement with CTO/Lead).
• Implementing and developing a test strategy.
• Participation in architectural decisions.
• Performance and database optimization.

• Redis + Horizon
• ClickHouse (analytics)
• Kubernetes
• GitLab CI → ArgoCD

What we value:

• Backend experience (4–5+ years)
• Strong understanding of application architecture
• Experience refactoring large legacy systems
• Understanding of SOLID principles and Clean Architecture
• Ability to structure code without formal DDD
• Experience writing tests (unit/integration)
• Desire to implement TDD (as a development of practice)
• Ability to argue for technical decisions
• Independence and initiative

Nice to have:

• DDD-lite experience
• Experience with high-load systems
• Understanding of fault tolerance and working with databases under load
• Experience with ClickHouse
• Experience transforming engineering culture within a team

• Remote format
• Schedule: 10:00–19:00 GMT+3
• 18 working days of vacation, 5 sick days, 2 day-offs
