ML Developer for International Advertising
If a technology generates money, it quickly becomes quite sophisticated. Advertising at Yandex is exactly such a thing — one of the most technologically complex systems.
We operate on the international advertising market, we have our entire advertising stack in-house. In the team, you can and should work with all parts of a modern advertising system (candidate generation, predictors, recommendations).
Advertising effectiveness is about advertisers efficiently finding their customers on one hand, and on the other hand, about advertising being useful for the users themselves. This constitutes our main tasks — making advertising effective and creating performance advertising within AI agents. The second one is an unsolved problem; there are no good references. We'll have to figure out ourselves how it can be done.
Training ML models for different tasks You will improve click, conversion, and bid predictors and work with auctions. Training multilingual NLP models and adapting solutions to the specifics of particular countries.
Working with the pipeline and deploying to production You will build end-to-end ML pipelines: collecting and preparing data, offline and online metrics, and working on inference optimization.
Collaborative work with product and technical teams You will actively interact with product managers and other teams, participating not only in engineering but also in product decisions.
