ML Developer for Market AI (NLP, LLM)

Yandex Market is one of the leading marketplaces with millions of active users and hundreds of millions of product listings.

We are looking for an ML Developer to join the Search Quality and Recommendations team to work on our new product — "Market AI". This product combines the best features of Market search and an AI assistant to help users find suitable products faster, compare them, and receive personalized recommendations.

What tasks await you

Fine-tuning NLP and LLM You will fine-tune YandexGPT for a wide variety of tasks that will help users complete their scenarios on the marketplace faster. You will need to find and collect data for training LLMs, including involving assessors.

Training ML models You will solve a broad range of tasks related to user analytics and modeling on the platform: improve the assessment of textual relevance between a search query and a product, perform clustering, train CatBoost, and generate recommendations.

Running Experiments You will need to run many experiments, develop metrics to assess their success, and propose next steps for improving the system.

We expect you to have

• Experience in NLP, including working with transformers
• Proficiency in classical machine learning methods: sklearn, CatBoost
• Strong knowledge of SQL, ability to write complex queries
• Ability to independently search for and find answers to questions, understand complex systems and services by reading code and documentation

Will be a plus

• Experience developing recommender systems or search systems
• Experience conducting A/B tests
• Knowledge of classical algorithms and data structures
