Our team is responsible for Managed Kubernetes — one of the most in-demand and fastest-growing services in Yandex Cloud.

Containers in Kubernetes are the modern standard for deploying distributed applications in public clouds and private data centers and for managing these applications. Our service's task is to hide the complexity of managing Kubernetes infrastructure behind a simple interface and give users the ability to focus on their applications.

Our service manages a fleet of thousands of K8s masters and hundreds of thousands of cores of computational power in these clusters. Our users load clusters in a wide variety of ways and uncover bottlenecks in all parts of the computational and network infrastructure. This motivates our service developers to expand their competencies and develop the service.

In terms of functionality, the Kubernetes platform is no less rich than Yandex Cloud as a whole. As a platform service, we rely on both Kubernetes and almost the entire spectrum of Cloud services, while the user base is growing rapidly. As a result, we have to maintain a high pace of development for our service and a key quality parameter — reliability.

What Tasks Await You

You will develop in the following areas: * Cloud services. MK8s is a platform that relies on and functionally covers the entire infrastructure and identity layer of Yandex Cloud * Kubernetes. This is one of the largest open-source projects of our time * Programming in Go. Our backends are large, complex, and heavily loaded Go applications * Operations of distributed K8s clusters overall, operations of their individual components in containers and at the OS level, operations of the K8s network stack * K8s user side. We not only provide the platform but also use and deploy infrastructure services in K8s * Programming for K8s. Our backends are K8s operators * The CNCF ecosystem * Linux, network stack, and containerization technologies

We Expect That You

• Have at least five years of experience in industrial programming with compiled languages and are ready to write in Go
• Have worked with cloud technologies

Will Be a Plus

• Have operated or used Kubernetes, written K8s operators
• Have worked with the Linux network stack or with containerization technologies in Linux
