Lawyer (GameDev / AI / IT) — Cyprus
We are looking for a lawyer to join an international group of companies operating in the GameDev, AI, and IT sectors. We value a specialist who is based in Cyprus or has hands-on experience working with the Cypriot jurisdiction and international corporate structures.
The lawyer will be part of the operational function and work within the operational group of companies. The role requires a high level of autonomy, ownership, and independent decision-making, as it is a standalone legal position within the operational structure.
Responsibilities
Intellectual Property (IP)
- Drafting and reviewing agreements related to game development, publishing, and distribution (license agreements, contracts with developers, publishers, and partners).
- Establishing and maintaining clear chains of title for intellectual property.
- Supporting trademark and patent registrations, coordinating with external patent attorneys.
Product Legal Support
- Providing legal support for product launches (including game releases and platform pages such as Steam).
- Identifying and mitigating legal risks related to new products and features.
- Supporting product and marketing initiatives from a legal perspective.
Corporate Law and Transactions
- Preparing documentation for company incorporations and supporting group operations.
- Drafting corporate documents (resolutions, minutes, internal policies).
- Participating in investment transactions, share purchase/sale deals, and due diligence processes.
- Drafting MoUs, term sheets, and other transaction-related documentation.
Compliance and Regulatory
- Conducting legal reviews of new products and technologies (including data and IP matters).
- Ensuring compliance with personal data protection laws (including GDPR).
- Developing and updating internal policies and procedures.
Employment Law
- Drafting employment and termination agreements, as well as internal policies.
- Preparing legal letters and certificates upon employee requests.
Document Management and Structuring
- Organizing legal documentation and maintaining registers.
- Reviewing and structuring existing documentation.
Legal Tools & AI
- Using modern legal tools and technologies, including AI, to improve the efficiency of legal workflows.
- Identifying opportunities to automate routine legal processes and document handling.
- Implementing practical solutions to optimize legal operations within the company.
Requirements
- Law degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in international IT companies or law firms advising IT businesses.
- Experience with the jurisdiction of the Republic of Cyprus.
- Experience working with international corporate structures (holdings, multi-jurisdiction setups).
- Russian — required for the role.
- English — Upper-Intermediate or higher.
- Greek — a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience in investment transactions and M&A.
- Cross-border deal experience.
- Exposure to tax and currency regulation matters.
- Experience with modern legal tools and technologies, including AI in practice (not just theoretical exposure).
