Senior Lawyer

Next Genium — an indie game studio is looking for a Senior Lawyer for an intensive project.

Conditions: • Income: up to 400,000 RUB • Employment: 1/4 full-time (1.5–2 hours a day), flexible schedule • Duration: 1–2 months • Format: remote • Tracker: not required • Key: results-oriented work, without process stretching

Responsibilities: • Full legal support for game development and sales • Intellectual property protection (registration, patents, copyrights, trademarks) • Work with counterparties: agreements with publishers, developers, contractors • Legal support for game sales (including sales via Hong Kong) • Formation of checklists from a legal perspective with risk descriptions for each stage • Development of legal strategies for international activities • Tax planning and legal structure building — a key task. The lawyer must understand taxes themselves, be able to break everything down clearly, and propose an optimal structure • Consultations on corporate and tax law (RF and foreign jurisdictions)

Requirements: • At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer in the game dev / IT sector • Deep understanding of copyright and intellectual property • Experience with international contracts and foreign jurisdictions (Hong Kong, Cyprus, USA, EU — will be a plus) • Experience in legal support for digital product sales • Ability to form legal checklists and describe business risks • Deep knowledge of taxes: ability to build a structure, explain a scheme, and justify decisions • Strong stance and willingness to object: does not agree with everything for the sake of comfort, can reasonably challenge a decision, propose an alternative, and justify it from the perspective of law and business risks. We expect a specialist who says, “No, this is risky, let’s do it differently — because…,” rather than silently agreeing. • English language — confident reading and writing (contracts, correspondence with counterparties) • Systematic thinking and readiness to work for results

Will be a plus: • Experience working in game studios or with game projects • Knowledge of platform specifics (Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, etc.) • Experience working with Hong Kong (registration, accounts, taxes) • Tax planning and optimization skills
