Middle / Middle+ QA Engineer (Backend) — "Import Substitution" project

We are looking for a QA Engineer for a project to migrate a system from Oracle to PostgreSQL as part of the import substitution program. Initially, the main focus will be on manual backend testing with deep database immersion. After stabilizing the functionality, there will be a transition to automation development.

📌 About the project: — Web platform (no mobile application); — Backend / Frontend: 60/40; — a large number of integrations and data migration; — subject area — insurance.

🧠 What we expect:

— 3+ years of software testing experience (backend + frontend); — solid experience in testing web projects and backend services; — excellent SQL knowledge (JOIN, GROUP BY, aggregate functions, subqueries); — mandatory practical experience with PostgreSQL; — experience with Oracle will be an advantage; — understanding of transactions, DML operations, database functions and procedures; — experience testing REST API (Postman, Swagger); — ability to validate data in the database after API calls; — experience in writing test documentation (TestOps / TestRail / TestIT); — confident command of test design techniques, understanding of SDLC and CI/CD; — experience running ready-made autotest pipelines; — ability to independently plan test coverage; — experience using AI tools and assistants in work will be a plus.

🔧 Responsibilities:

— perform exploratory, functional, integration, system, regression, acceptance, and e2e testing; — test backend via API and directly in the database; — validate data migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL; — analyze requirements and participate in task decomposition; — develop and maintain test documentation; — localize and track defects, analyze logs; — participate in improving testing processes and interact with analysts and developers; — prepare reports on testing results and participate in customer demonstrations; — in the future — participate in the development of test automation.

➕ Will be an advantage:

— experience building backend and UI autotests from scratch; — Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot; — RestAssured, Selenide, JUnit, JDBC, Moon.

— specialists focused only on automation without readiness for manual testing; — candidates without practical experience with PostgreSQL; — performers without independence and initiative.
